Credit Card Debt! That is the all too familiar scenario this day and age, brought about by the buy it now culture. For many years now people have instead of saving for what they want they have taken out a loan either through a broker or used their credit card. The trouble that this has brought too many people is! they suddenly find themselves out of a job or find that they are a little short that month and skip a payment they then get slapped with a charge for late payments.

This then starts a downward spiral as they struggle to pay, the simple solution would have been not to fall into the trap in the first place. "I know easier said than done" If you have a card try to pay the loan off at the end of the month if it isn't too big. Many people always tend to borrow more than they can realistically pay back and this is the problem. I have fallen into this trap with the "live for today" attitude I had, so if you are a young person thinking of getting a loan or credit card heed this warning.

It is all made far too easy now to go out and get you're wished for iPod or holiday or the latest phone or camera, P.C or Laptop and so on. The question you should ask yourself! Is my job secure? Can I realistically afford the monthly payments without leaving it a little bit tight on the purse strings? Answer these questions honestly because the consequences are not nice and lead to anxiety and stress. If you already have a credit card take a pair of scissors to it, be patient and save like they used too in the good old days, sure it will take longer but at least you won't go through the nightmare that can ensue.

If you are already falling behind on your payments I would suggest talking to the company you borrowed from, in a lot of circumstances they will try to help and can come up with useful suggestions. If you leave it and pretend it will all go away then think again! I have seen in the past people running away from their debt and it has caught up with them all with serious consequence. In the more profound debt they stand to lose everything house included.
